Punchdrunk Panda is a Filipino retail graphic design brand that aims to rid the world of the bland and the boring by funkifying the world in collaboration with like-minded creatives through functional graphic-designed products. We love creating unique and awesomely Pinoy-made products that showcase Filipino creativity. In line with this mission, we are constantly searching for new products and new designs that we know our loyal followers will love. Last Saturday, March 22, we hosted a fun and intimate gathering of artists and bloggers so that they could get an exclusive preview of our upcoming collection of camera straps.
This HOHOL was held at Craft Katipunan, a cozy coffee shop located at 88 Esteban Abada Street, Loyola Heights, Quezon City. Craft isn't your run-of-the-mill cafe as it prides itself on serving artisanal coffee-based beverages. In fact, their baristas have even received multiple awards for their delicious cups of coffee. Students typically frequent the Katipunan branch, which has a great selection of meals and pastries for the perennial all-nighter. (We had the Belgian Waffle and the Americano — the perfect combination of sweet and bitter.)
Everyone paid close attention to artist Rax Maniquiz as she explained the inspiration behind her camera strap design. Her initial design was also inspired by the sea but featured a mermaid; later on, she decided to make her design more kid-friendly by replacing the mermaid with quirky sea creatures.
Bloggers Raleene Cabrera and Charlene Ajose also shared interesting facts and stories about themselves, such as how they went about naming their blog and who they would love to collaborate with in the future.
Meanwhile, blogger and PdP artist Abbey Sy took photos of the latest camera strap collection — which do you think was her favorite? For the photography aficionado in you that just can't wait to get its hands on the PdP Summer Camera Strap 2014 Collection, here's a sneak peek of what you can expect.
