In the spirit of Valentine’s, loving yourself couldn’t be a more appropriate thought to keep. Being kind to yourself everyday is one of the best things you can do for yourself as there is simply no other person in the entire world that is you and there is nothing more important than how you feel and think about yourself. So starting today, push through your limiting thoughts and enjoy a life that truly shines by learning to love and be kind towards yourself everyday with these simple, self-loving habits:

  1. Block your insecurities and replace the voice of your inner critic. One way to do so is to simply say “Stop” then refocus your thoughts into something more constructive like planning what you want to eat for dinner, what you plan to do the next day, or to simply find ways to motivate you into finishing your task. Don’t believe in the negative voices in your head and, when it happens, shift to a positive thought. The best way to be optimistic is to think happy.

Practice daily motivation habits that remind yourself of beneficial activities — there’s nothing more inspiring than exercising for more energy and endorphins to tackle the day, saving up your money to be able to travel and go on once-in-a-lifetime adventures. Refocus on what makes you absolutely happy. Start each day with a positive mindset. Give compliments and be kind to everyone. Step out of your comfort zone and try something new. Fill your body with healthy meals that nourish and make you have a sense of well-being. Take a 5 minute self-appreciation break every day.   5. Get creative and always revisit your happy place. In your down days, do whatever takes your fancy and paint, write, make music, or take photographs. Or go to the one place that makes you calm, happy, and in love with your life — whether it’s the beach, the mountains, or your hometown.

Value your self-esteem greatly and feed it generously. Be patient but persistent in your endeavors especially through hard and trying times. Learn to think of yourself favorably, appreciate, and love yourself everyday. In the end, the best kind of love is living your life to its fullest and happiest.
